Shawerma is one of the best food inventions ever made. Don't try to refute it, because your tongue would be weak with how delicious it is...! In Abu Dhabi, Shish Shawerma is the place to get your shawerma fix, where they indulge you with tasty and fresh ingredients. Some say it is the best place for shawermas, I'd leave it to you to find out if that's true for you!
Every shawerma bread (kaakeh) is made fresh upon request, topped with sesame seeds.
It is almost similar to Subway, except better! Because hummus is a sauce option, and even the black olives tasted so fresh, I liked it (for once). They even rebake the kaakeh along with the ingredients after they stuffed it in. There is little surprise the queue never abates.
We brought our piping hot shawerma out to the waterfront to eat, while looking at this beautiful view:
The sun was merciless that day, but it was considered quite cooling already in the UAE.
Needless to say, it was super delicious, a little messy to eat, but I scoffed it all down in record time! I had the chicken shawerma for 10AED (~SGD4) and it was awesome.
Shish Shawerma's menu extends beyond the shawerma - they also have hot and cold appetizers, salads, crepe (sweet & savory), together with juices, coffees and soft drinks. It is definitely a must-visit when you are in Abu Dhabi!
