Ave and I discovered this gem of a place through The Entertainer App - Bartini Kitchen @ Boon Tat Street. It seems rather empty and quiet on a weekday night (ideal for dates!) even though it's quite near to Raffles Place/ Telok Ayer MRT.
The view right outside Bartini Kitchen... it's a more secluded lane away from the hustle of the business district area.
Selfie while waiting for the rest to reach.
The food preparation took nearly thirty minutes and we were starving... but luckily, good things are worth waiting for. The 1-for-1 deals were applicable for only main courses, but it was good enough for us. Each main course here is priced around $17/18/21/23/24/36, depending on your choice.
The sinful and richly yummy Mac and Cheese ($17) was the first to reach, complete with a generous dollop of truffles! Well, truffles can make any dish premium almost immediately, what's more Bartini Kitchen's Mac and Cheese was the lighter version of most of its other variants, with a combination of three types of cheeses used. The slightly seared burnt surface made it even tastier.
Bangers and Mash ($24) was delightfully delicious, with springy grilled Italian sausages generously soaked in buttery shallot gravy and fresh mashed potatoes. The savoury kick packs a punch.
My tastebuds weren't too agreeable with the Lamb Ragout ($24) - which was a linguini pasta dish tossed with heartily pulled lamb stewed meat and grana padano cheese. I found the taste of lamb a little overpowering and well, too lamb-ie. The linguine itself was good though, if it's good ol' beef bolognaise sauce I'd love it.
The Chicken Kiev ($24) was wonderful especially because the crisp breaded chicken breast was tender and complemented with the bacon and spinach mash. It might err slightly on the drier side, but the sauce made it all better. It also had a hint of tarragon herbs and cheese.
The entire place evokes a comfortable Friday night out vibe, with an extensive bar counter and slightly dimmed lights. Perfect for an extended dinner date for long chats with friends in that huge armchairs!
Check out the booze yo.
They also have a Bitcoin machine which you can pay your meals with! Impressive, huh?!
