South Melbourne Night Market

On Wednesdays, you wear pink. On Thursdays in summer, South Melbourne Night Market (note: the day market opens Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun) happens. So many markets, so little time... how does South Melbourne's stand out from the rest?

The indoor stalls are something that I haven't seen in the other typical markets whose focus is on street food and performances, selling lots of hidden gems of trinkets, furniture... no, not just tables and chairs, think awesome door knobs, living room centrepieces - perfect housewarming and wedding gifts! Boutiques are aplenty too, but they are on the pricey side.

For the delicious bites available, it's nary the same as Queen Victoria Night Market in terms of atmosphere. South Melbourne's is a lot more organized, upscale and 'hipster' (whatever this means - you know I know that you know) while Queen Victoria's is more rowdy, boisterous and fun. Atmosphere never comes for free... so you get my drift. There are often picture-perfect angles all abound though.

Specks of creativity can be found everywhere in the cultural capital of Australia, they ain't letting this space go without demonstrating their art in terms of craftwork and performance! It's fantastic vibes and if you've got a couple of spare cash, it's sure a good way to spend your evening dinner time here.

Never miss a post again!
