Moomba Festival is an annual event in Melbourne that happens over the long Labour Day weekend, promising a flurry of family-friendly activities line the shores of the Yarra at Birrarung Marr Park. It is a short walk away from Federation Square, full of fluttering seagulls trying to play hide-and-seek with you. Be sure to arrive before the sun sets - the skies are always awe-inspiring any day here in Melbourne.

Reunite with the kid in you, and throw some rings. I'm pretty sure your hand-eye coordination has improved over the years, right? There's no excuse to not win a fluffy plushie.

This is possibly the cutest carnival game I've ever seen featuring a dazed-looking Spongebob and Patrick floating around in a water tank waiting for you to pick them up.

If you're feeling more adventurous, go for the rides. They are approx. AUD10 a go.

This game caught everyone's attention: little wonder why it did. A whole row of minions are suspended from a horizontal bar and moved up and down... it makes everyone feel like they are part of a Despicable Me set! After observing for a while, I still had no idea how the game worked.

My Moomba Festival buddy, Lexi, who walked the grounds with me!
Never miss a post again!
